Banned Cards

How to Ban a card?

To Ban a Card, use the Ban Cards function on the right hand side on your portal access under Management Tools
or click on Card Tracker followed by typing the Card number and then click on the "Ban Card" tab to make the request.

When a card is Banned, it will not work on any VACs or Readers and instead will prompt "UNAUTHORIZED Code: B02" message on the display.

If using the Ban Cards tab under the Management Tools section, it will look like this:

If using the Card Tracker to Ban a card, it will look like this:

How to tell if a Laundry Card has been previously Banned:

You can tell if a laundry card has been banned by searching that laundry card's number using the Card Tracker.
On a banned laundry card, you will see a "Banned" tagged right underneath the laundry card number, and you can also click on the Ban Card tab to see when the ban was originally requested, and it will also list the reason for the ban (assuming a reason was given when initially banned):

Note: if the system bans a card, there will always be a reason given.
In the above example, a customer used the Replace Card feature to have a replacement card dispensed with the value of their lost card transferred over to their new card. The system automatically bans the old card when this feature is used, and it lists the number of the replacement card that was dispensed

How to Unban a Laundry Card?

To unban a card that was previously banned, simply use the Card Tracker.
Navigate to the Ban Cards tab, and click the Unban Card button to unban that laundry card.

Can I re-use a banned card found?

Yes. If a Card is lost, it is recommended to Ban that card and leave a comment like "lost card". But if you find a banned card, and the intention is to put the card back into the VAC to be recycled, it is recommended that you unban the card manually before putting it back into the VAC card dispenser.
However, if you do not unban the card before putting it back into the VAC card dispenser, the VAC will automatically unban that card whenever it is dispensed to a new customer.
A card can be unbanned manually from the same Card Tracker "Ban Card" tab. Simply click the "unban" button, and then put the card back in the VAC to be recycled. When the card is dispensed again, it will be written with the new value, for the new customer. However all the transaction history will still exists for that card.
