PCI Compliance: How to Avoid Non-Compliance Fees on Your Processing Statement

What is PCI compliance?

PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is a set of security requirements that all businesses accepting credit card payments must follow. As part of your payment processing account, you're required to complete an annual PCI compliance certification that confirms your business handles card payments securely.

Why am I seeing a non-compliance fee on my statement?

If you haven't completed your annual PCI compliance certification, a monthly non-compliance fee is automatically applied to your processing statement. A notice will be on your statement indicating that your account is not PCI compliant. This fee will continue to appear each month until your certification is completed.

How do I become PCI compliant?

Call the PCI Help Desk at 855-826-2128 to be connected with a representative. They'll walk you through the entire process and answer any questions you have. The process is straightforward and typically takes about 15 minutes.

Once your certification is complete, the non-compliance fee will drop off your next processing statement.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take?
Most operators finish the application in about 15 minutes over the phone.

Do I have to do this every year?
Yes. PCI compliance is an annual requirement. You'll receive a reminder email when it's time to renew. Completing it on time each year ensures you won't be charged the non-compliance fee.

What is the non-compliance fee amount?
The monthly non-compliance fee is typically $50 to $70. This fee appears on your monthly processing statement and is completely avoidable by completing your PCI certification.

I already completed this. Why am I being charged again?
Your certification may have expired. Certifications are valid for one year from the date of completion. Call the PCI Help Desk at 855-826-2128 to check your status and renew.
