How to Setup Video Playback on a TV

How to Setup Video Playback on a TV

If you have a TV that is capable of playing media from a USB stick, you may want to consider setting it up as a Video Kiosk for your customers.

With a Video Kiosk, you can have signage or an instructional video playing on repeat in your store. This can be helpful for promotional purposes, or to help new customers learn how to use the Value Adding Center (VAC).

Setting up a Video Kiosk:

You'll need a USB stick, a TV that is capable of playing media from a USB stick (most modern TVs have this capability), and a media file to be displayed.

Step 1:
Copy your video, or image, file onto the USB stick. An instructional video for basic VAC usage can be found here:
Note: It is recommended that you delete all other files off of the USB stick, except for the one you will be using with the Video.

Step 2:
Plug the USB stick into the TV's USB port.
Some TVs will have multiple USB ports. You may need to try different ports to see which one will read information off of the USB stick.
Note: Some TVs will have a USB port that are strictly meant for servicing (it may be labelled as "service terminal" or something else to that effect). Although these ports look like regular USB ports, you will not be able to use these types of USB ports to play media off of a USB stick.

Step 3:
Navigate through your TV's inputs to find, and select, the file you've loaded onto the USB stick. Put the TV into an auto playback mode so it continuously loops your chosen media content (most modern TVs should have this capability).
