The WNC (Wireless Network Controller) is the small standalone wireless board installed in each VAC, that is responsible for the wireless communication with all the card readers in the location.
If there is an issue with the WNC on VAC01 specifically (VAC01 is the primary VAC); then there will not be any communication with the card readers.
The card readers will still work correctly to accept laundry card payments and start the machines, but they will not be able to send status updates/audit information, and will be un able to receive any commands, like vend price change requests, that are sent from the Laundro Portal.
Note: A WNC error, on any VAC that is NOT VAC01, will NOT cause an issue in the store;
as only VAC01's WNC is used to communicate with the card readers in the store
WNC Location:
The WNC is typically located near the top corner of the VAC.
It is connected to the main control board using a 4-wire cable:
When operating correctly, the WNC should have a solid green power LED ON.
Case 1: Portal showing WNC Error, NEW INSTALLATION
Chances are something got unplugged (or damaged) during the installation.
Check to ensure that the WNC board is present, the cable harness is connected, and the board has a green power LED, as shown above.
If the cable harness is connected but there's no green LED, then there may be a hardware malfunction. Contact our

Case 2: Portal showing WNC Error, existing location
Newer systems will attempt to resolve this error automatically, if the WNC error has persisted for more than 10 mins.
If you are still seeing this error message; try issuing the "Power cycle WNC" command remotely using the Laundro Portal, then check the VAC status in 10 mins to see if the error message has cleared:
If the error message is still there after 10 mins, try issuing the "Reboot VAC Controller" command remotely and see if the error message clears once the VAC has finished rebooting:
If the WNC error message is still remaining after the VAC has been rebooted;
inspect the physically WNC board and check to see if it has it's power LED ON:
If the WNC is not receiving power, check to make sure it's wiring harness is plugged in, and fully seated, on both the WNC side, and the VAC control board side:
Case 3: No Errors, but there's no communication with the readers.
Ensure that the antenna clip is connected snuggly onto the WNC module:
