Payment Processing - P400 (Canada)

Overview

This troubleshooting article is for Canadian customers using the Verifone P400 PINpad with Moneris.


Issue: Payment Terminal Error

You're unable to run any transactions. The Portal says Payment Terminal Error.

Case A: New Installation
If this is a brand new installation and you haven't run any transactions before, confirm your connectivity. Ensure that the PINpad is connected to the AUX ethernet port on the VAC control board. And ensure you've entered all PINpad configuration settings precisely as outline here: Configuring P400

Case B: Existing site
If this is an existing site, and all of a sudden you're seeing a Payment Terminal Message, please contact us for support.

Issue: Transaction is aborted, result code is 205 or 105

If you see 205 or 105 in the VAC Log, first double check to ensure that you have correctly entered the Merchant ID and ECR ID parameters in the VAC control board settings. If these are correct, then the next step is to contact Moneris. This might be a configuration issue with the PINpad. The contact centre for Moneris is 1-866-319-7450. You'll need your Merchant ID for this.




Issue: PINpad displaying TAMPER

You will need to replace this PINpad
