Continental-Girbau Washers (Serial)

This installation note is for Continental-Girbau washers with a COM daughter board (should exist on all washers manufactured 2015 or later) which enables serial communication with the card reader




Parts

  • Reader (with ASSY-02-02-12 board)
  • Cable harness

Installation

  1. Set the machine type and number using the DIP switch found on the reader circuit board: 



    See DIP switch settings page to understand how to configure DIP switch positions to set the machine type (washer or dryer) and number.

  2. Turn machine power OFF!

  3. Remove the coin drop if present

  4. Connect the three RS485 wires to the screw terminals on the COM board, as shown below:
     - White wire to ”+
     - Yellow wire to ”-
     - Black wire to “Gnd




  5. Connect the 2-wire power connector to the coin-drop header:



  6. Secure the reader to through the slots intended for the coin-drop.

  7. Power ON the machine and present the Activation card to activate the reader:



  8. Now you need to enable serial communication in the machine's settings. Go into the machine's setup mod (Nod) menu and change setting from id-0 to id-1
