Dexter: N-series (WCN models)

This installation article covers WCN Dexter washers.

Parts

  1. Reader (with Generic Relay board)
  2. Cable harness
  3. 12V power supply
  4. High voltage sensor (optional)

Installation

  1. Before proceeding, you should assign numbers to each of the machines in the laundry room/building. It is highly recommended that you place number labels on each washer and dryer machine.

  2. Set the machine type and number using the DIP switch on the reader circuit board:

See DIP switch settings page to understand how to configure DIP switch positions to set the machine type (washer or dryer) and number.

  3. Turn machine power OFF!

  4. Open machine hood

  5. Remove coin-box or other card reader

  6. START wires
Splice the START wires (White and green) from the harness to the two black wires inside the washer control

  7. Reader Power
In most case, you should have been provided with a 12V power supply which connects to the reader's wiring harness through a barrel connector. Connect the AC side of the power supply to 110V/220V in the machine.  If you have not been provided with a 12V power supply, you can splice the red and blue wires from the reader's harness across the two grey wires in the above photo (the grey wires carry 24Vac)

  8. High voltage sensor box
If you've been provided with a high voltage sensor box, connect the two red wires across the Door Lock solenoid, which uses the Blue and White/Green mixed wires in the washer.

  9. Mounting
Remove the coin-drop and install the coin-drop block-out plate. Also remove the coin-box.
Install the backplate over the coin-box vault.

Attach reader this backplate and secure using the dome nut.

  10. Activate the reader using the store's Activation Card:

Pricing

This is set on the Portal. The reader sends a single pulse to start the machine. Ensure that the washer is configured to start a cycle from a single pulse. Typically this is done by setting the required price to just 25cents or 1 coin,
