Fagor/Domus Washers

Fagor/Domus Washers

This note covers reader installation on Fagor and Domus Washers. The reader uses serial communication over an RS-485 interface.

Parts

  • Reader with a back-plate
  • Cable harness
  • 12Vdc Power supply

Installation

  1. Before proceeding, you should assign numbers to each of the machines in the laundry room/building. It is highly recommended that you place number labels on each washer and dryer machine.

  2. Set the DIP switch to number the reader. See Reader DIP Switch settings

  3. Connect the 3-pin connector from the cable harness to the header labeled CN13 on the Fagor control board.

  4. Cut the AC prong off the AC side of the 12V power supply and safely connect to 110Vac or 220Vac on the machine.
DISCLAIMER: This requires a high voltage connection. We are NOT responsible for any damages or injuries resulting from this connection. We are not advising on how or where to connect the AC/DC power supply. Below are a few photos our customers have sent us, showing possible high-voltage connection points.

  5. Plug DC side into the cable reader's harness.

  6. Power on the washer and and set machine ID to 1
Note: This step of setting the ID to 1 should NOT be confused with setting the washer number of the machines.
In order to get these machines to communicate with the card readers, you need to set all washer ID's to 1 (regardless of what number the washer is in your store)

The above ID # should be 1 for ALL washers
(this ID # is NOT the same as setting a specific washer number for this machine)

  7. Enable COMMS Kit

First go back into the menu and go to the configuration screen

You may be prompted for a password. Obtain the password from your dealer, Fagor, or from us.

    Then...

  8. Activate the card reader using the provided Activation Card for this store location:
