IPSO: All Belgium-built washers

IPSO: All Belgium-built washers

This installation covers older Belgium-built IPSO washers with micro-20 or sigma control boards. The reader uses a single pulse to start the machine. Only a single vend price is supported.

Parts

  • Reader (CR-11-124-03 or CR-11-150B-03). The reader uses the Generic Pulse (ASSY-02-02-11) board

  • Cable harness
Version 1 (for micro20 boads with male spade connectors)

Version 2 (for boards with green connector blocks):

  • 12V Power Supply

Installation

  1. Before proceeding, you should assign numbers to each of the machines in the laundry room/building. It is highly recommended that you place labels on each machine.

  2. Set the machine type and number using the DIP switch on the reader circuit board:

See DIP switch settings page to understand how to configure DIP switch positions to set the machine type (washer or dryer) and number.

  3. Turn machine power OFF!

  4. Remove the coin drop if present

Connecting to the washer's control

There are TWO types of the IPSO control boards.

Type 1: Board with Spade connectors

This board has male spade connectors on it as shown below. Your wire harness should have corresponding female spade connectors.
Connect the spade connectors to the machine's control board as follows:
Black wire: COMMON (if you have 4th green wire on the harness, it also connects to COMMON)
Yellow wire: DOOR
White wire: COIN1. There might already be wires occupying the quick connect lugs, in which case you will need to splice these wires.

Type 2: Board with green connectors along the edges
This is shown below. Your wire harness should have two connectors to connect the Coin and Cycle connectors on the board

Connections...
Connector with White/Green wires: Coin
Connector with Black/Yellow wires: Cycle
BE VERY CAREFUL to connect to the EXACT connectors as shown in the photo. This is  because some other connectors carry high voltage which will damage the reader.

Connecting Power

  1. Connect the AC-side of provided AC/DC power adapter to AC voltage (in most cases you will need to cut off the prong and connect to the power terminal block inside the machine)
  2. Connect the DC jack to the connector on the cable harness provided AC/DC power supply

Securing the reader

Secure the reader to the machine using the four nuts.
Then activate the new reader with the Activation Card for this location:

Setting Vend Prices

The reader sends a single pulse to the machine. You want to set the machine to start the cycle with a single pulse. The vend price is set on the LaundroPortal.

Multi-vend pricing is not supported on this machine. It is a single price for all cycle.

See Vend Prices article for generation information on setting prices.

Troubleshooting

Below are problems commonly encountered during installation of readers on A-series Dexter machines. For more general reader troubleshooting, see Reader Support Process

Issue
Explanation and resolution
Reader display showing "BUSY" This likely means that the wires used as feedback from the machine to determine the Busy/Available state are not connected properly. Ensure you have connected ALL wires according to this article  (i.e wires for the Door signal or the Cycle signal)
